Lawn Aeration

You need to breathe and hydrate…and so does your lawn!

Core aeration (the process of removing plugs of soil from your lawn areas) is one of the best things you can do for the overall health and appearance of your grass. Aeration relieves soil compaction, helps break up thatch (the collection of decayed grass that can choke out turf) and allows water and nutrients to more effectively reach the roots, which is where it needs to go! Over time, as soil compacts it becomes very difficult for water to penetrate the earth and often times ends up running off or evaporating before it can be effectively utilized. In considering this, one should see aeration as not only a beneficial aspect of landscape maintenance for the improvement in looks but as also a cost saving measure and being good for the environment by saving water in not needing to water as often or as long to ensure adequate hydration. Aeration is best performed in spring or fall in Bend, Oregon.
